We’ve all had those days. When life has paced itself a little slow and you’re browsing the internet and then WHAM! You are smacked on the face with this...

Or a little bit of this... Awesome !

A slight desire stirs inside. It raises its head and whispers to you to shut that laptop and get out of the house. And who would blame you?

Auli is. Blessed with wonderful snowfall in the winters, Auli calls to one and all to come and visit. It is not only the Best Skiing Destination in India but also a winter heaven for all travel and adventure lovers around the country. Located deep in the Garhwal Himalayas, it is surrounded by towering peaks, the names of some of whom you would recognise easily. For example, Mts. Nanda Devi and Mana Parbat. Mts. Kamet and Duna Giri join them to create a view you could kill for.

Now,  those of us who have grown up on a healthy diet of Archies comics as kids, have read plenty about skiing trips and I’m sure have dreamt of treating themselves to weekends filled with friends, hot chocolate and trendy outfits. I know I have!

Duration: 8 Days
Season: Jan-Mar
Grade: Moderate
Region: Garhwal (Uttarakhand)

Auli gives us the perfect opportunity to do just that. Join GIO Adventures to give Skiing in Auli an exciting edge, no matter what age group you might belong to. GIO Adventures ensures international quality skiing equipment with professionally trained mountaineers as guides. One of their highly recommended is called   Fun Skiing, which is all about Snow Fun. If not, you could also register for any of the Skiing Courses Available in India.

Imagine waking up to breath-taking vistas and spending the day right in the lap of the mystical mountains! While skiing is definitely at the top of the list, especially in winters, one can also spend the day trekking, exploring your surroundings and taking pictures. Kick back in the evenings with a good book or just hang around the perfect bonfire.

While we all, your truly included, imagine (and hope) that ten minutes into our first visit would find us skiing down the slopes like Olympic pros, truth be told, it’s more likely to look like this.

But no worries. Under the tutelage of the experts, one will soon be skimming the snows the way Jesus once walked on water.
