The major attractions along the way are the breathtaking views of Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Kedarnath peaks. Also, one can visit the world's highest Shiv mandir, Tungnath Temple, situated at an altitude of 12,073 feet. The Chandrashila peak provides a glorious 360 degree view of the entire valley.
Day 1- Hiking To Deoriatal Lake
We drive from Kund to Sari from where we start are trek towards the famous lake of Deoriatal. Situated at an altitude of 7,998 feet. Deoriatal is adorned with the beautiful forests of red and pink rhododendrons overlooking high mountains on all sides. Crystal clear water of Deoriatal captures the beautiful reflection of famous Chaukhamba peak. After spending a day here, you start hiking back downhill towards the lodge. It is a 20 kms hike.
Day 2- Cycling Through Chopta
We start early morning from the lodge and trek towards Chopta, a.k.a the Mini-Switzerland of India. It is famous for its beautiful tourist spots and also because it is from here that the trial leads to Tungnath Temple. Tungnath is the world's highest Shiv mandir and stands at a staggering altitude of 12,073 feet. The trek passes through the golden meadows leading to Chandrashila peak at 13,123 feet. One major attraction of Tungnath is that it offers a majestic 360 degree view of the entire valley down below. Then on your way back to the lodge, wear your helmets and warm up as you mount the bikes for an exhilarating experience. It will be 35 kms of downhill biking from here all the way back to the nearest lodge where you stay for the night. The ride will take about 2-3 hours.
Day 3- Rafting On Alkananda River
Get ready for most fun ever. We drive down to the camp at Jayalgarh where your rafting session begins. The river that we get to conquer here is none other than Alaknanda. A total stretch of 25 kms is covered while rafting from the Jayalgarh camp to Devprayag. It is a challenging stretch as the waters are full of rapids ranging from class II - III. The major attraction here is that you raft through the confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda which meet to form the Ganga at Devprayag.
Day 4- Rafting On Holy Ganga
Next day, from our lodge, we drive down to the camp at Marine Drive, which is a 2 hour journey. Rafting begins from here and goes all the way till Rishikesh. The waters will be more challenging today with rapids ranging from class II – IV. Some of the well-known rapids on this route are Three Blind Mice, Crossfire, Return to the Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Clubhouse and Double Trouble. After an exhilarating rafting session, you will be driven back to Haridwar where the adventure comes to a close.
